I had Sam as an instructor. Honestly he was brilliant; I'm such a nervous person but I felt calm behind the wheel while he was teaching me, and having passed my test now I'm so glad that he taught me not just to get through the test, but about how to be a genuinely good driver. I would strongly recommend Sam as an instructor!

Thank you very much to Kat (and Smile School of Motoring) for helping me overcome my concerns about motor coordination. Kat started teaching my wife and I at the same time (to help us motivate each other) and once we were confident moved to separate lessons. She was really supportive in adapting the teaching approach and content to our different needs. I highly recommend Kat, but would also suggest to focus on 2+ hour lessons as I found these more effective.

I cannot recommend Kat and Smile driving school highly enough! After switching from manual lessons at a different driving school to automatic lessons with her, I was nervous and lacked confidence. From the very first lesson, her calm, patient, and supportive approach made me feel at ease when I was driving and she helped me steadily build my confidence with every session. Kat is always punctual and incredibly flexible, making scheduling lessons around being a student, working and walking my dog easy. Her teaching style is clear, encouraging, and tailored to my needs, which was exactly what I needed to improve my skills. She instantly recognised the teaching style that suited me best. Beyond her incredible teaching, I’ve also really enjoyed our lessons because we always have nice catch-ups and chats each week, which makes driving with her a pleasure. She was always attentive to my concerns and made me feel at ease, particularly in the lead-up to my test. When we decided to reschedule my test, she reassured me and ensured I didn’t feel like I had let myself down. Thanks to Kat I was able to pass my driving test on the first attempt! I now feel confident and safe as a driver, which is all thanks to her. My Boyfriend has also now started learning to drive with her too ! Had such a great experience with Kat, made me feel so comfortable and really helped with my confidence when driving!

I practiced with Kat for about 6 months. Before that I was a complete beginner, with almost zero previous driving/learning experience. Kat is very patient, explained everything clearly and gave me confidence when I was stuck in my learning curve. With her experiences, Kat also shared lots of tips that helped me pass on my first attempt! I really enjoyed our weekly lessons during the past months. Thank you, Kat!

I can only recommend Grant for your driving lessons : he is professional, clear in his explanations and put you at ease from the beginning and this mixed with a fun chat when permitted. I took a couple of refresher lessons as I was used to drive on the other side of the road being French and I am so glad I chose Smile School, I am now confident and ready to drive on the UK roads - bring it on! If you are a new learner or just need a refresher, opt for Grant, you won’t regret it -you are assured to be in good hands!

I was lucky enough to have Grant as an instructor over the past year or so. He was a fantastic instructor- providing me with plenty of advice to improve my driving, but also some casual chit chat to create an informal, comfortable, relaxed environment. My confidence in driving increased significantly with his help, so much so that I passed my driving test first try. He was such a good instructor that I encouraged my brothers to drive with him too- which they will be starting soon. I highly recommend smile for some great quality teaching!

Had a fantastic experience with Smile, my instructor being Grant. I learnt from zero experience, to passing first time with his help. Was always calm in the car with me, never had a bad lesson when I went out on the road with him. By the time I went for test, I was fully confident in my driving, and believe that the lessons I received will lead to me being a safer and more economical driver than most other drivers on the roads. Will miss the chats I had with Grant, and would recommend him and Smile to anyone that asked. Cheers!

Grant is a great instructor who was able to teach me how to drive safely and in a manner that would most please the DVLA, whilst maintaining a positive atmosphere throughout each lesson.

My instructor Kat was amazing! She was so friendly and chatty and helped me so much. She explained everything properly and helped me on every problem I had. Couldn’t recommended her or Smile more!

I had Sam as my instructor and he was awesome. He has a calm approach to teaching and was very chatty and friendly - keeping me at ease throughout my lessons. He was also flexible in the run up to my test and offered extra slots which was great. He was more than happy to answer any questions I had and let me focus on areas I wanted more practice in. I've just passed my test after having lessons with Grant. Throughout our lessons he made me feel at ease and has a friendly and calm manner. He covered every area thoroughly and went above and beyond to make sure I was ready and safe. Overall, I highly recommend Grant as a driving instructor and appreciate all the support he gave me.

I had lessons with Abigail and I’m glad to say she got me to the finishing line. I passed my practical driving test. Hurray! She’s amazing, patient and friendly. I can’t thank her enough. I highly recommend Abigail. She’s just the very best.

I had driving lessons with Sam and passed my test recently! He was very patient and calm, even in stressful situations, never shouting or anything like that, as I’ve had in past with driving instructors. I’m autistic and can get very anxious, and he was very understanding and happy to tailor the lesson to me and answer any questions. We were able to easily chat and have a laugh; he was very pleasant and easy to get along with. I get ill quite often and he was very understanding about cancellations, and was able to accommodate extra lessons closer to the test. I would 100% recommend Sam to anyone learning to drive!

I learnt to drive with Sam and couldn't rate him any higher. He was incredibly patient and calm, always helping me work through difficulties constructively and positively. He was really accommodating with lesson times and happy to adapt to my awkward schedule. Every lesson was tailored to my personal needs which really helped to grow my driving skills and confidence on the road. I have just completed a short refresher course with instructor Julianna. I cannot praise highly enough- having not driven in 10 years she was clam, reassuring and really helped me to regain my confidence. I wish my instructor many years ago could have been as positive and helpful, I would not hesitate to recommend Smile to anyone looking for learner or refresher lessons.

Even when I was having bad days he would be patient and talk me through what I done wrong with clear explanations. He always made sure I was happy and laughing.
